Yollo AI: Is It Really Free? Pricing, Safety and What the Fine Print Says

Illustration of a smartphone, price tag and padlock representing Yollo AI pricing, hidden costs and privacy considerations.

The homepage calls Yollo AI “completely free” with “no message limits.” The same page has an “Upgrade Pro+” button, and the iPhone app sells a $199 lifetime plan. Both can’t be the whole story.

Yollo AI is an AI roleplay and character-chat service with image and video tools. It is free to start, but the free tier’s limits aren’t published in the pages we could read, and the cost depends on where you sign up. On iPhone, plans run from $5.99 a week to $199 once. As of November 2026, the web and app versions also follow different billing rules.

This guide covers what the pages actually say, where they contradict each other, what you’d pay, and how to protect your data.

What is Yollo AI, and what’s confirmed?

Yollo AI is a character-chat platform where you talk to AI personas, make your own, and generate images and short videos. Everything below comes from the company’s own pages, as of November 2, 2026.

ItemWhat the official pages say
Characters“200,000+” (homepage, App Store)
Chat extrasPersona setup, long-term memory, 10+ selectable AI models (homepage)
Images / videoUp to 4K images and 1080p clips (homepage)
iPhone appFree download with in-app purchases; rated 18+ (App Store)
Seller listed on the App StoreBeijing Fun Fan Technology Co., LTD.
Governing law in the termsHong Kong; disputes go to arbitration
Not available toPeople in Mainland China or Hong Kong (terms)

The homepage copy we could read still carries a 2025 copyright line, so some wording may lag behind the app. Treat it as the company’s marketing, not an audited spec sheet.

Which “Yollo” are you looking at?

Several unrelated products share almost the same name. If you searched “yollo ai” and landed somewhere that wasn’t yollo.ai, check the domain before you pay.

Diagram showing Yollo AI and five similarly named products or websites: Yollo (running), Yollomi, Yolly AI, Wollo.ai and yolloai.net.
NameWhat it isRelated to Yollo AI?
Yollo AI (yollo.ai)Roleplay chat, image and video generatorThis article’s subject
Yollo (running app)Interval running timer by Studio Y Inc.No
YollomiCredit-based AI image and video generator, from $9.9 a monthWe found no link
Yolly AI (yolly.ai)AI video, image and music generator with monthly plansWe found no link
Wollo.aiCharacter-chat service built around astrology-based personalitiesA different product
yolloai.netA site selling “AI girlfriend” plans at $9.99 and $24.99 a monthWe could not confirm any link, and its prices don’t match the official ones

What most people miss: the Android download button on the Yollo AI site points to a domain called wonda-ai.app, not a Google Play address under the Yollo name. We couldn’t verify who publishes that listing. Until you can confirm it, treat the Android route with caution.

Is Yollo AI really free?

It is free to start, but “unlimited and free forever” is not a safe assumption. The company’s own pages disagree with each other.

What you’ll readWhereWhat contradicts it
“Completely free, no hidden costs or message limits”Homepage and FAQThe App Store describes a daily allowance of free messages and says premium gives “truly unlimited” chat
“One-time payment, no subscriptions, no auto-renewals”Refund policyThe App Store lists weekly and yearly plans and calls premium a subscription; the terms mention monthly or annual billing
“No login or registration is ever required”HomepageThe privacy policy describes accounts with email and password, and a delete-account function in Settings
“Uncensored,” with NSFW artHomepage intro and page metadataThe FAQ says the platform is “not designed for explicit NSFW AI chat”; the App Store rates it 18+ with sexual content and nudity listed
“Anonymous” chatsHomepageThe privacy policy says it logs IP address, device details and the content you generate, such as chats and image prompts
Minimum age 13 (16 in the EU)Terms and privacy policyThe App Store rating is 18+

The likeliest reading is that the web service, the iPhone app and the marketing copy were written at different times and for different audiences. Whatever the reason, you shouldn’t rely on any single page. Decide based on the checkout screen you actually see.

The free tier’s daily limits for messages, images and video are not published on any page we could read. Anyone quoting an exact free allowance is guessing.

How much does Yollo AI cost?

On the US App Store, as of November 2, 2026, plans range from $5.99 a week to a $199 lifetime purchase. Prices vary by country and change over time. A New Zealand storefront listing showed higher numbers, including a lifetime plan at 399.

Plan (US App Store)PriceCost over 4 weeksCost over 52 weeks
Standard weekly$5.99$23.96$311.48
Premium weekly$8.99$35.96$467.48
Standard yearly$49.99n/a$49.99 (about $0.96 a week)
Premium yearly$69.99n/a$69.99 (about $1.35 a week)
Deluxe lifetime$199.00n/aOne payment
Video credit packs$9.99, $19.99, $29.99, $89.99, $149.99n/aSeparate from plans
Horizontal bar chart comparing Yollo AI subscription costs on the US App Store: Standard weekly $311.48 for 52 weeks, Premium weekly $467.48, Standard yearly $49.99, Premium yearly $69.99 and Lifetime $199.

The cost math, calculated with code on the date above:

  • Staying on a weekly plan for a year costs about $261 more than Standard yearly and about $397 more than Premium yearly. The yearly plans are roughly 84–85% cheaper than paying weekly for 52 weeks.
  • The $199 lifetime plan equals about 2.8 years of Premium yearly, or about 4 years of Standard yearly.
  • “Lifetime” has a catch. The terms let Yollo AI modify or discontinue the service at any time, with or without notice, and accept no liability for it. Lifetime means the life of the product, not yours.

Web pricing is a different system. The refund policy describes one-time credit purchases with no recurring charges. Three third-party directories report web passes of roughly $19.90 (Standard), $24.90 (Premium) and $29.90 (Deluxe) for 30 days, with yearly versions at $69.90, $89.90 and $149.90. We could not open the official checkout to confirm those figures, so treat them as unconfirmed. We also found nothing saying purchases carry over between the web and the app, so assume they don’t.

What the refund policy requires. For web purchases, you must ask within 7 days and stay under all three limits: fewer than 30 chats, 80 or fewer image-generation points, and fewer than 5 created bots. The terms add that fees are otherwise non-refundable and that you can only cancel through the payment partner where you bought. For App Store purchases, refunds run through Apple, not through Yollo’s policy.

Is Yollo AI safe?

It’s a mainstream-risk roleplay app with real privacy trade-offs, and its pages are less detailed than you’d want. Here is what the privacy policy and terms actually say.

  • Your chats are data. The company collects usage information, including the types of content you generate, plus IP address and device details. It says it uses data to improve the service, including “training our AI models to be safer and more effective.”
  • Research sharing. It may convert dialogue text into anonymized formats for non-profit academic cooperation with third-party institutions.
  • Licensing is broad. Content you create gives Yollo AI a perpetual, irrevocable license to use it for any Yollo AI-related purpose. If you make a generated image or video public, the license extends to AI training and promotion. If you list a character publicly, you agree to share its copyright with the company.
  • Where data goes. Servers may be in Hong Kong, Singapore or the United States. The policy is primarily governed by Hong Kong’s data-protection law, not US state privacy law.
  • Your legal position. The terms cap Yollo AI’s total liability at $100 and require individual arbitration, not court or class actions.
  • App tracking. The App Store privacy label says identifiers may be used to track you across other companies’ apps and websites. It lists contact info, user content, search history, usage data and diagnostics as linked to you.
  • Deletion. You can delete your account from the Settings page or by email. The policy doesn’t state a deletion timeline.

Content and age. The public front page lists user-made characters in romantic, suggestive and family-role scenarios. We found no published description of how those are moderated. The terms prohibit sexualized depictions of minors and say violators can be reported to law enforcement, but a policy isn’t a filter. Don’t open it on a shared, school or work screen. The App Store rating is 18+, and the US Federal Trade Commission opened a broad inquiry in September 2025 into how AI companion chatbots affect children and teens. Yollo AI was not among the seven companies named.

Practical rules if you try it:

  1. Use a separate email address, not your main one.
  2. Don’t share your full name, employer, address, health details or financial information in chats.
  3. Don’t upload photos of real people. The terms ban deceptive deepfakes, and image-to-video makes misuse easy.
  4. Download only from the App Store listing, never from “mod,” “premium unlocked” or APK sites. Those files routinely carry malware and rarely deliver what they promise.
  5. Remember that emotional conversations are logged like any other.

Who should use Yollo AI, and who should skip it?

It suits adults who want casual roleplay or story-writing and will treat it as a free trial, not a service they depend on.

Use it if you…Skip it if you…
Are 18 or older and want to try character chat before payingAre under 18
Plan to test the free tier and stop if limits biteNeed guaranteed unlimited, free access
Are comfortable with chats being logged and possibly used for trainingWant strong privacy or plan to share sensitive personal details
Prefer paying once or yearly, not weeklyAre tempted by weekly plans and might forget to cancel

A five-minute check before you pay: the Four-Gate Check

This is an illustrative checklist, not an official rating. It rests on the verified facts above and takes minutes.

Four-gate checklist for evaluating Yollo AI before paying, covering subscription billing, data privacy, cancellation and refunds, and official website verification.
GateQuestionPass if…
1. BillingIs this weekly, yearly, one-time or lifetime, and in which storefront? The price on the purchase screen matches what you expected, and you’ve noted the renewal period
2. DataWould you be fine if this chat were read by a stranger? You’ve kept names, locations and sensitive details out
3. ExitCan you delete your account and get money back? You know the 7-day, 30-chat, 80-point, 5-bot refund limits (web) or Apple’s refund route (app)
4. SourceIs the domain or listing really Yollo AI’s?You’re on yollo.ai or the App Store listing, not a look-alike or an APK

If any gate fails, don’t pay yet.

Common mistakes

  • Trusting “unlimited.” The homepage says it, the App Store implies limits, and neither publishes numbers.
  • Buying weekly “just to try.” Four weeks of Standard costs $23.96, nearly half a year of Standard yearly.
  • Treating lifetime as permanent. The terms allow the service to change or end.
  • Searching “yollo ai download” and clicking the first result. The name overlaps with at least five other products.
  • Confusing “no sign-up” with “private.” Logging still happens.

What are the alternatives?

We didn’t test competitors, so we won’t rank them. If you’re comparing roleplay and companion tools, how Character.AI, Fictionlab and Janitor AI compare on memory is a good starting point. If you want to understand how a free roleplay service meters its usage, see how Janitor AI handles its token budget. If you currently use Character.AI and are weighing a switch, read what Character.AI users should do in 2026. And if the name confusion above sounded familiar, another example of one AI name covering several unrelated products shows how it plays out elsewhere.

Myth vs. fact

MythFact (as of November 2026)
“Yollo AI is 100% free with no limits”It’s free to start. Premium and credits exist, and free limits aren’t published
“There are no subscriptions”The web refund policy says so, but the App Store lists weekly and yearly plans
“No sign-up means anonymous”The privacy policy logs IP, device data and your generated content
“Lifetime means forever”The terms allow the service to be changed or discontinued without notice
“Any Yollo app is the same product”At least five unrelated products have near-identical names

FAQs

Is Yollo AI free?
You can start free. The homepage claims no message limits, but the App Store listing describes daily free allowances and paid “unlimited” chat. Video and image credits cost extra.

Do I need an account?
The homepage says no login is required. The privacy policy describes accounts with email and password, so expect to create one for purchases or saved data.

Is Yollo AI safe for kids?
No. The App Store rates it 18+, and the content includes mature and suggestive themes. Its own terms set a lower minimum age of 13, which conflicts with that rating.

Is Yollo AI NSFW?
The marketing says uncensored and the FAQ says it’s not designed for explicit chat. The App Store rating lists sexual content and nudity. Treat it as adult-oriented either way.

Is there an Android app?
The Yollo site’s Android button points to wonda-ai.app. Third-party directories claim a Google Play listing, but we couldn’t verify the publisher. Avoid APK mirrors.

How do I delete my data?
Use the delete-account function in Settings, or email the privacy contact listed in the policy. No deletion deadline is stated.

Can I get a refund?
For web purchases, within 7 days if you’ve used fewer than 30 chats, up to 80 image points and fewer than 5 bots. App Store purchases go through Apple.

Who owns Yollo AI?
The web pages we read don’t name a company. The App Store lists Beijing Fun Fan Technology Co., LTD. as the seller, and the terms invoke Hong Kong law.

Is Yollo AI the same as Wollo.ai or Yollomi?
No. Wollo.ai is an astrology-themed character-chat service, and Yollomi is a credit-based image and video generator. We found no link to Yollo AI.

Conclusion: key takeaways

  • Yollo AI is free to start, but its pages contradict each other on limits, subscriptions, anonymity and content rules.
  • On iPhone, weekly plans cost $261–$397 more per year than yearly plans, and lifetime ($199) isn’t guaranteed to last.
  • Chats are logged, may train models, and licensed broadly to the company.
  • Several look-alike names exist, and the Android download route is unverified.

Next step: if you want to try it, open the App Store listing, read the exact purchase screen, and run the Four-Gate Check before paying anything.
